Technical solution:

Together with S&T VMware Team, OTP Bank enhanced and expanded former virtual desktop environment (VDI) and integrated and enhanced vSAN cluster based on the All-flash subsystem, which represents biggest vSAN technology based project in the Region.

The implementation of vSAN technology improves system management capabilities at all levels from performance, mobility, reliability, flexibility to security of the bank.
Due to the dynamic needs of the bank's operations, high availability, continuity of operations and tolerance of system parts failures are ensured.
18 ESXi servers use local disks to enable the creation of highly available, highly scalable and fast disk resources at a significantly lower cost than was the case with NAS and SAN implementations.
The converged architecture with advanced disk-sharing features in the All-flash configuration provides rapid provisioning for new VDI machines for users.
Scalability of VDI system drastically simplifies the procurement and installation of future equipment for expanding the existing cluster.

Benefit for the bank:

  • more secure
  • easier to deploy and manage
  • deliverable to any advice
  • at lower cost per desktop than physical machine

Result:

High availability, increased agility and provisioning, improved user experience and significant lower cost.
